Wall-E - Superb!!!

I am not a big fan of animation movies and i never watched one in cinema wall. Wall-e is the first animation movie i watched in hall (forcibly so) but this movie has changed my perception of animation movies to a large extent.

Wall-e is a brilliant movie with more or less, no flaws. It is one and a half hours of non-stop entertainment. The two main characters of the movie Wall-e and Eva and their love story leaves you completely spellbound. The people behind this film have done a wonderful job in making robots emote human feelings (without saying a word).

It is a movie which also gives a message to the mankind in a simple and entertaining manner. It is a must watch for everyone.

Love Story 2050 ....Test of Patience

I made a wrong choice this friday when i choose Lovestory 2050 (LS 2050) over Jaane tu... The film which promised too much resulted in a no show.
LS 2050 which promised to be a sci fi movie neither ended as a good love story neither an sci fi movie. It was a difficult task finding the plus points in the film. Harman was average as new comer and shows some promise (But he should stop immitaing Hrithik). Priyanka Chopra was not at her best in the movie. The other charachters such as Boman Irani also lived up to the expectations but the real culprit was the story which let the whole film down. Mumbaiof 2050 was not convincing and more or less seemed like a screensaver being shown repeatedly. Further, the music of the film has nothing to talk about. Also , the length of the movie (more than 3 hours) added to the people trauma.
All in all, the film definitely deserves a miss.

I'm back with my reviews

After a six month long gap, I'm back again woth my movie reviews...enjoy reading!!!

National Treasure...fun ride...

The second national treasure(Book of Secrests) movie is a befitting sequel to the first one. This one too keeps you engrossed and pretty much involved in the search of treasure. This time Nicolas cage is in search of the city of gold in a bid to prove his ancestors were not involved in the death of Abraham Liccoln. He is accompanied again by Diane kruger, Justin and his father...the only addition this time being his mother. And like the first part he is being chased by a group of villians.

The movie is quite fast paced and unfolding of the sequence of events (noticeably kinapping of THE president of US and finding of the Book Of Seacrets) keeps you interested throughout the extragavanza. Nicolas Cage is excellent as usual and all other actors also join the party...All in All...though less adventurous than the previous installment.. this movie too has its moments and deserves a watch.

Welcome...a welcome comedy

After No Entry Anees bazmee comes back with another comic caper welcome. This time the product is not so good but is quite watchable. Anees bring anil, nana, paresh and akshay for the first time together and the results are great...

Welcome has a simple storyline with anil and nana (big dons of the city) searching for a sutiable sharif groom for their sister Sanjana(katrina). Number of hilarious situations arise during the search and ultimately there search ends on Akshay, whose Mama (Paresh Rawal) wants his nephew to be married to a sharif family.

Akshay is as usual brilliant in the comic act, although he seems to get repetitive and tired of his comic image. Nana is brilliant and anil also contributes to this hilarious ride. Katrina is more or less a showpiece and does her bit. All in all the all the stars do justice to their role. Mallika Sherawat also adds up to the spice of this masala flick..

Welcome also boasts of catchy music and some foot tapping numbers and overall this comedy clicks due to the brilliant chemistry and comic timing of the ensemble starcast.

Aaja Nachle ...Watch it for Madhuri only

Aaja Nachle....the comeback vehicle for Madhuri Dixit...gives Madhuri a chance to flaunt his strongest skills i.e. dancing. Aaja Nachle is a musical extragavanza (with not so admirable or appreciable music score ..except for the title song).

Aaja nachle is a story about a woman who returns to his hometown (after the death of her dancing guru) 11 years after she ran away with a firang and obviously bringing shame to her family in. Madhuri faces an uphill task of saving Ajanta(the place where she learned dancing) and for that she challeneges MP (Akshay Khanna) ...Madhuri promises to stage a Lailu majnu show within 2 months (with the people of Shamli as the cast) to save Ajanta...which ...no prizes for guessing..she does after overcoming a lot of obstacles.

The story on the whole is quite predictable and becomes quite boring sometimes..Maduri being the saving grace..for not so well wrtitten story...Anil Mehta (the director) does a decent job in his debut directorial venture. Salim- Sulaiman fail to score high with their music. Akshay Khanna , Kunal Kapoor and Konkana sen do justice to their roles. The Laila majnu sequence (which lasts for about 30 -35) minutes is well scripted and directed...but grandeur of the sets used during the sequence and the dance troops (god knows where they came from) is not digestable....All in All, an average film which definitely deserves one time watch for Madhuri who shines throughout the film..and yes special accolades to Vaibhavi Merchant...for the song..AAja Nachle ...

Goal...Watch Chak de again instead!!!

Another film on a game...but this time the result is different from Iqbal (Cricket) and Chakde (Hockey)...this one dissapoints big time. The film fails to hold the audience even till the interval and the story is damn predictible.

Director Vivek agnihotri was better when he directed Choclate (rip off of The Usual Suspect) previously. But this time he loses it and he does not possess the same quality of narrating a predictble story like Sriram Raghvan did it in Chak de..

The film has a big star cast and revoloves around a down to dump club United Southhall football club (Arshad warsi being the captain of the club). And to save the club they need to won a championship...which u guess it right they win ultimately...after having Boman Irani as their coach and John Abraham(a confused American born desi) as their lead striker (after some drama shama..obviously)

Boman Irani is the best of the star cast..but he tries to be Shahrukh khan (which he fails..). Arshad and John are OK but Bipasha is a complete waste. Sardar Monty Singh makes his presence felt with some witty one liners.

All in all. there is notinh new and nothing great in the movie to watch or talk about. Music is also far from being noticeable. So, this Goal is far away from its GOAL........
